Christmas is almost here and I am loving the recent updates we did to our front porch HERE. I wanted to create a few DIY ornaments this year and so I headed to the store to find some cute supplies and came home with everything I needed to make Embroidery Hoop Ornaments! They turned out ridiculously cute and I can’t wait to share them with you today!
Materials Needed:
- 5” embroidery hoops
- Black Latex Paint
- HomeRight Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer
- Medium HomeRight Spray Shelter
- Painting Tarp:
- Berries
- Bottle Christmas Trees
- Ribbon
- Other décor (optional)
- Hot Glue Gun
I just loved creating these cute hoop ornaments. They kind of took on a life of their own, and I ended up keeping them a bit more simple then originally planned and didn’t use all of the little decorations I originally bought to put on them. But I really really love how they turned out!
I love that I was able to customize these as I went to create the cutest little hoop ornaments ever!
I began by setting up my Medium HomeRight Spray Shelter. I usually put a disposable tarp in my spray shelter when painting like this one, but I forgot to snag one, so I put a paper bag down instead.
I love using my medium spray shelter for projects like this because it keeps my project safe from wind, dust and even gentle rain. And when I am done painting, it folds up easily like a car sunshade!
Then I laid my embroidery hoops down.
I poured my black paint into my HomeRight Super Finish Max Paint Sprayer with the green tip on it. (It is always a good idea to stir and strain your paint first.)
And then I sprayed my embroidery hoops black. This was super easy and literally took me just a few minutes to spray all my hoops black.
I was able to get a good enough coat on these with only one coat of paint, but you can do two if you prefer. Remember to turn these over and paint both sides.
Once these hoops were completely dry, I got to work adding decorations!
I used a hot glue gun to add berries to the hoops, and then I added a bottle brush tree to them also.
I had originally bought tiny wreaths too, but felt it was a bit too much, so I decided to leave these simple and perfect with just the berries and tree.
I love how minimalistic these are while still being warm and cozy feeling! They are the perfect farmhouse Christmas ornament.
