ARPAN, located on the main road, in a busy residential locality in the city of Vadodara, (Baroda) Gujarat State, India, renders a unique Centre and Community based integrated service-oriented program for children with multiple disabilities.
ARPAN adopts a multidimensional, trans disciplinary approach by their professional staff to help the disabled children in their Language, Social, Cognitive, Behavioral, Motor and Educational Development.
ARPAN caters to children suffering from various Developmental Disabilities in the form of Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Polio – related Handicaps, Autism, Behavioral Problems, Speech Defects, Chromosomal Defects like Down Syndrome, Learning Disability, Post- infectious Brain Damage, Attention Deficit hyperactivity Disorder, Children with Sensory Deficits etc.
  • Till June 2013 we have registered and assessed-1742 children
  • 557 are availing regular services at Arpan
  • 337 in the Centre based program
  • 154 in Special School
  • 183 avail different therapies
  • 200 are covered under the Home based program

Volunteers Available

  • Ms. Bhanu Kenia has been volunteering her services in Pre-Vocational Training for more than 10 years.
  • Dr. Shashin Mehta, trained in imparting physiotherapy especially in children with Cerebral Palsy, volunteer his services as a guide and teacher with the help of the computer and Audio-Visual aids.
  • Ms. Mallika Srinivasan, Ms. Rita Chakravarty, Ms. Vandana Kulkarni belonging to the “Darshan” L & T Ladies Welfare Association have volunteered services in the past for more than 2 years.

Volunteers Required

ARPAN needs volunteers for vocal and instrumental music, physical education, yoga,
story-telling and lastly individualized education program to be conducted on a
one-to-one basis for the Special Children.

  • has obtained the Certificate of Income Tax Exemption under section 80G since 26th April 1994. Reg No:BRD/SYS/110-11-A/93-94.
  • is a member of The National Trust: Reg No-100717171145036 (Mental Retardation, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Multiple Disabilities) upto 2017.
  • is registered with Director of Social Defense, Govt of Gujarat. Reg No-365 upto 27th Feb 2014.
  • has registered its staff with Rehabilitation Council of India under their respective disciplines.

  • For Polio awareness rally every year and as a mobile immunization unit on National Immunization days
